Following graduation from college I entered the U.S Air Force, became a commissioned officer, and served 23 years in the field of communications electronics. My service included assignments in field and staff positions, as well as three tours as a unit commander. Besides six stateside assignments, I served tours in southeastern Turkey and Taiwan. My last two assignments involved developing policy and direction for the acquisition of Air Force information systems and directing planning and acquisition support for five global networks for the Defense Information Systems Agency.

Upon retirement, I worked for a defense contractor for seventeen years supporting planning and programming for U.S. Navy air and surface systems. I also taught leadership development to acquisition professionals. I addition, I supported initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Navy systems acquisition.

During the above years, I served in leadership positions in six churches in three denominations and three military chapels. That service included teaching Bible studies, strategic planning, and leading disciplemaking and ministry to men. I led a regional men’s ministry team and served on my denomination’s men’s ministry leadership team. I have been on short-term mission trips to Mongolia (2003) and western Turkey (2005) and Russia (2006). I also post a weekly blog on Biblical topics.

My wife, Linda, and I have been married 59 years. We have three children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Linda and I live in Cantonment, FL. I have written three books: Strong and Courageous, a devotional study of the Book of Joshua, Walls and Gates, a devotional study of the book of Nehemiah, and Empowered to Make a Difference, a study of the work of the Holy Spirit in advancing the kingdom of God.

I have a BA in English from Central Washington University and completed course work toward an MA in History at the University of Southern Mississippi.
